Should Dine In Restaurants Enforce Dress Codes: Turkey Leg Hut Dress Code Has Twitter in a Comedic Frenzy

July 07, 2021

Looks like Turkey Leg Hut may start requiring Sunday's best to eat at their restaurants. The famed Texas restaurant caught some heat after posting their new dress code policy.

They posted the policy on Instagram stating, "Please know that we are a family friendly restaurant that serves all ages from children to adults daily and putting this dress code in place was necessary to ensure that all parties from our guests to our staff are dressed appropriately when in our establishment. Unfortunately, due to the attire of some guests, we were forced to put this new policy in place as we remain committed to ensuring all guests are comfortable while visiting us. We are not a club, we are a family friendly restaurant and will continue to maintain our standards as we welcome everyone to the Turkey Leg Hut!"

Twitter users had a field day commenting on the new dress code for the restaurant. Check out some of the hilarious and viral tweets that went up shortly after a screenshot of the dress code was posted.

Some went as far as to say the new dress code decree was somewhat anti black or the policing of black bodies, although the restaurant is owned by a husband-and-wife team Lynn and Nakia Price. Others fervently agreed the restaurant has the full right to require customers to dress in a way suitable for a family environment.

Regardless of the comedic outrage the restaurant seemingly has not been affected by the enforcement of their new rules having posted a recent video boasting lengthy lines.

The famous eatery was rumored to be coming to Atlanta back in March 2019. With them enforcing this code in Texas I am very curious to see the codes reception here in Atlanta. Atlantans are no strangers to dress codes when it comes to lounges and the club scene. We would love to hear your thoughts! Comment down below if you agree or disagree with their new stricter dress code.
