Local news station WMNF reports that James Cusick, Jr., founder and pastor of the Global Outreach Church in Melbourne, Florida, was arrested on Thursday after being turned in by a member of his own congregation for his participation in the deadly January 6th Trump riot at the Capitol.
According to reports, Florida has had over 50 arrests associated with the riot at the capital. This has marked Florida as the state with the most confirmed participants detained from the violent rally.
The father and son duo are only the latest culprits arrested from the Trump incited attack on the United States Capitol on April 2nd, 2021
72 year old James Cusick, his son and church vice-president, 39 year old Casey Cusick, were indirectly turned in by one of the their congregation members David Lesperance who was also present at the riots.
Lesperance was tracked down and interviewed in his Florida home by task force investigators in the Tampa Bay area. He then reportedly told the authorities he had attended the riot with his pastor but refused to name any names.
FBI took it upon themselves to utilize modern technology to retrieve the "geolocation and publicly available social media posts to track down the Cusicks and link them to Lesperance," WMNF reports.
Body cams retrieved form officers on the scene provided concrete evidence of the father and son's attendance.
All three men have been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority, disorderly or disruptive conduct and “violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol Grounds.” according to the Christian Post.
All three men were released on $25,000 bail with the conditions stating they are not allowed to travel unless they are summoned for a court appearance.
